Ortovox fabrics used in first layer garments

120 Merico Tec

In the 120 MERINO TEC ORTOVOX collection, we use a material mix of 85% virgin wool (Merino) and 15% polyamide.

The special feature of the fabric is the complex manufacturing process (CORESPUN technology by © Südwolle Group) of the exclusive yarn: the finest Tasmanian merino wool fibres are spun around a core of polyamide filaments. The spinning technique creates a smooth, low-bulk yarn. Thus an extremely light and elastic fabric can be produced, but at the same time very strong, durable and not prone to pilling. The 120 MERINO TEC collection thus combines the stability and durability of polyamide with the proven properties of merino wool.

150 Merino Cool

In line 150 MERINO COOL ORTOVOX combines Tencel® fibers from sustainable forestry with merino wool. Wood fibers are characterized by their high evaporative heat loss and their smooth surface that allows them to cool themselves. The material combination gains strength and durability through a complex spinning method: BETA-SPUN technology defines a production process in which fine polyamide filaments are pushed around merino wool and Tencel®. Thanks to the protective polyamide sheath, the fabric becomes extremely robust and abrasion-resistant without losing the advantages of merino wool fibers and cooling Tencel® fibers.

MATERIAL COMPOSITION

  • 44% virgin wool (MERINO)
  • 43% Lyocell (TENCEL®)
  • 13% polyamide

  • Weight: 150gsm

120 Competition Light

The 120 MERINO COMPETITION is also made using the circular knitting technique, with virtually no seams, to position different material strengths in the most diverse areas of the body. The main areas are made of fine 120 g/m2 MERINO wool, while particularly breathable mesh structures are used in the areas where the heat is most intense. The 120 MERINO COMPETITION line, just like the 230 MERINO COMPETITION, is one of the sportiest ORTOVOX collections.

MATERIAL COMPOSITION

  • 100% virgin wool (MERINO) from Tasmanian

  • Weight: 185 g / m2

230 Merino Competition

The 230 MERINO COMPETITION, made with the virtually seamless circular knitting technique, is the sportiest ORTOVOX collection. This process allows material thicknesses to be positioned at different points on the body (body mapping).

MATERIAL COMPOSITION

  • 57% virgin wool (MERINO)
  • 41% polyamide
  • 2% elastane

  • Weight: 230gsm

185 Merino

The MERINO 185 collection in pure Tasmanian Merino wool regulates temperature and moisture, is soft, practical and odor-neutral. With a thickness of 185 g / m2 the material is able to cover a wide temperature range and is therefore ideal for year-round use. The fiber diameter of 19 microns is extremely soft on the skin, but is also strong enough to accompany you to the highest peaks.

MATERIAL COMPOSITION

  • 70% virgin wool (MERINO)
  • 30% polyamide
