CAMP Down Jackets - Essential line

The line of Essential duvets by CAMP is born from the long experience gained in the sleeping bag sector. Over the years the range has expanded and today offers different models for all activities and for everyday life.

Let's start talking about the materials that are used and their peculiar characteristics.

FEATHER

Real feather is the best insulator found in nature. The down flock allows for exceptional insulation with the same weight and volume. The NN/NN indication expresses the percentage by weight of flock/feathers used (example: 90/10 = 90% flock, 10% feathers). Filling Power (cuin = cubic inches) is the ability of the feather to swell and retain air; in general, the higher the filling power value, the better the quality and insulation of the feather used. Our garments are made with goose down, the best in terms of weight and volume, or duck down whose flock, although slightly smaller, maintains excellent performance.

PRIMALOFT® SILVER

Synthetic padding that, thanks to its construction and special water repellent treatment, guarantees warmth even in conditions of high humidity. PrimaLoft® Silver is also extremely light, soft and breathable, ensuring absolute freedom of movement, maximum comfort and great packability of the garments.

RDS Certification

CAMP supports the Responsible Down Standard in its use of down and feathers. The down and feathers used as thermal insulation in products on the market come from all over the world. The aim of the Responsible Down Standard is to guarantee the best living conditions for geese and ducks from which the precious raw material comes. A strict chain of controls ensures that the down and feathers come only from animals that have not been subjected to mistreatment: this contributes both to the welfare of the birds and to the trust of retailers and customers in responsible consumption.

DWR treatment

The DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment guarantees the water repellency of a fabric: this means that water drops, once in contact with the treated fabric, slide off the surface without soaking it. CAMP , with a view to maximum corporate responsibility and continuous improvement of its products, has adopted a C0 treatment (without fluorocarbons, PFC free), with indisputable advantages for both the environment and for man: a new path to follow while respecting ourselves, the mountains we frequent and all the nature we love. The C0 treatment is already present on all clothing items and will also be present on all newly produced sleeping bags, progressively available as warehouse stocks run out.

Hitex Evo

Windproof fabric in superlight and compressible Ripstop Nylon, calendered* to make it downproof without the aid of coating. This means that the Araneum has an exceptional degree of breathability; the DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment also makes the fabric water-repellent. A “must” of the Essential line.
Lightweight and water-repellent Ripstop Nylon fabric thanks to the DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment, it is also characterized by a coating that makes it waterproof and at the same time breathable. Stain-resistant treatment and easy to wash.

Nivix Evo

The fabric of the Essential line for more technical uses, where stress and wear are greater. Nivix Evo is made of extremely resistant Nylon Ripstop, in a mixed yarn that ensures strength and a relatively low weight, while the DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment gives the fabric excellent water repellency. In addition to being downproof, Nivix Evo guarantees excellent waterproofing and breathability thanks to the internal coating.

FlexTex

Elastic fabric characterized by a perfect fit, which guarantees an excellent fit and full freedom of movement with a low weight. Thanks to its robust construction, it is able to maintain its shape and last a long time, while the WR (Water Repellent) treatment makes the fabric water-repellent.

T-Lite

Lightweight, breathable and calendered Nylon fabric* to make it downproof without the aid of coating. Used as a lining on all our garments.

* CALENDERING: finishing process that is performed by subjecting the fabric to strong compression between two preheated surfaces that squash and bring the fibres closer together. A calendered fabric is more durable, breathable and downproof.
